A no-KYC crypto exchange, sometimes called an anonymous or private crypto exchange, lets you deposit, trade and withdraw without ID verification: no passport upload, no selfie, no proof of address. That matters to people who do not want another copy of their identity documents sitting in a database that can leak, and to people in countries where mainstream exchanges will not open an account at all.
The catch is that "no KYC" on a homepage is not the same as "no KYC" in the terms. Many exchanges reserve the right to freeze a withdrawal and ask for documents after an automated risk flag. This page lists exchanges by what their terms actually say, and grades each one twice: once for how little it asks about you, and once for how likely you are to get your money out.
Three kinds of service get called a non-KYC exchange. Order-book exchanges hold your coins while you trade, and usually cap withdrawals for unverified accounts. Peer-to-peer exchanges match you with another person and, at their best, never hold your funds at all. Instant swap services convert one coin to another with no account. All three are ranked on this page, because the right one depends on whether you are trading, buying with fiat, or converting.
12 no-kyc exchanges usable without mandatory ID are listed and graded here. 1 have terms that rule out identity checks entirely, while 6 reserve the right to ask for ID after a risk flag. The highest Safety grade belongs to NightTrader Exchange (6.4/10), and the highest Privacy grade to Crypton Exchange (7.4/10). 3 accept Monero and 0 publish a Tor onion address.

Peer-to-peer exchanges match a buyer and a seller who settle between themselves, by bank transfer, cash, or another payment method. The platform provides an order book and an escrow so neither side can walk away with both the coins and the money.

Seizure TradeOgre
In September 2025 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced that it had seized about C$56 million in cryptocurrency from TradeOgre, describing it as the largest crypto seizure in Canadian history. Police said the platform did not identify its users and had never registered as a money services business. No arrests were announced. The exchange had already gone offline, and no process for returning customer balances was described in the coverage reviewed.

Funds held XeggeX
According to a published review of the case, XeggeX stopped withdrawals without warning on 3 February 2025, with the operator saying a device had been compromised and a database corrupted, an account that on-chain analysts questioned. Balances were reportedly converted into non-redeemable placeholder tokens, and a closure and bankruptcy notice followed at the end of June 2025. Industry estimates put losses at up to $80 million. No audited refund process has been documented.

Questions
Using one is lawful for individuals in most countries, and holding crypto in your own wallet is lawful almost everywhere. The obligations fall on the exchange: whether it is licensed to serve customers where you live. Rules differ by country, so check your own before trading.
Safety depends on custody. Peer-to-peer and non-custodial exchanges never hold your coins, so they cannot freeze them. Custodial exchanges can. Sort this page by the Safety grade and read the incident history before depositing more than you can afford to have delayed.
Yes, if its terms allow it. We mark this as KYC level 3, "ID on risk flag". It usually happens on larger withdrawals or when deposited coins are flagged by a blockchain-analytics vendor.
It depends on the exchange. Many custodial exchanges exclude US residents in their terms, and each listing shows the countries a service says it does not serve. Non-custodial peer-to-peer software has no operator to exclude anyone. This site does not publish ways around a provider’s restrictions; check the terms and the law where you live.
An exchange that never takes control of your coins. Trades settle between the two users through an escrow that the operator cannot spend alone, so there is nothing for the operator to freeze. Non-custodial exchanges are marked on each listing and score higher on Safety.
A non-KYC exchange is any exchange that does not require identity verification, and it can still be a company holding your funds. A decentralised or peer-to-peer exchange has no company holding funds. The custody field on each listing tells you which you are dealing with.
Most custodial ones do, often a daily cap for unverified accounts. Limits are shown on each listing where the exchange publishes them.
