What Obscura VPN is
Obscura is a VPN built on a two-party design: its own servers relay encrypted traffic to exit servers run by Mullvad, so the party that sees the connecting IP address is not the party that sees the destination. The site says accounts are a generated account number with no names, emails or phone numbers, that card details are not required, and that payment is accepted over Bitcoin's Lightning Network and in Monero. Users can verify the exit hop's WireGuard key against keys Mullvad publishes. The client is open source and available on Apple platforms and, more recently, Linux.
