HeroSMS sells and rents virtual numbers from more than 180 countries for receiving SMS verification codes, with an API and a supplier marketplace, and presents itself as built on the technology of SMS-Activate, which it says closed in December 2025. Accounts are identified only by the registration email, and its blog says balance top-ups are taken in cryptocurrency, while the user agreement still describes card payments and refunds to the original card. The user agreement contains no identity-verification clause; it allows accounts to be frozen after three months of inactivity or suspected third-party access, and prohibits activations for banking services and Webmoney. The site names Danver LLC of Cheyenne, Wyoming as the operator. The PDF terms of service were behind a bot check and were not read.
