## What it is
OpenPeer was a peer-to-peer protocol for trading fiat against USDT, USDC and native EVM tokens using per-trade escrow smart contracts on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain and other chains, with a centralised order book, reputation and dispute arbitration run by OpenPeer Labs Inc. Its docs say KYC is not enforced, though users are encouraged to verify through partner DID providers, and that posting an ad or order requires a username and email. The terms (last modified August 2023) bar US persons, charge a 0.3% fee to the offeror, and let OpenPeer settle disputed escrows. The escrow contracts are public on GitHub and a private audit report is published. On 21 October 2026 the trading app at app.openpeer.xyz did not resolve and the blog was unreachable; the marketing site and docs still load.

## What the terms say about ID
